Beach and house reef

Ukulhas has a long, beautiful white bikini beach - almost one km long. With Villa Boheme you have two reserved sunbeds near Ocula bar, where you can get refreshments and stay in the shade or sunshine. The beach is regularly cleaned, like the rest of the island. There is almost no garbage on Ukulhas and it regularly wins environmental awards.

In the harbour there is a shark point, where you can watch nurse sharks and black tip baby sharks come every evening.


Snorkeling on Ukulhas

At the bikini-beach, there is a long and beautiful house reef with live soft and hard corals. Many fish, including huge schools of parrotfish, turtles, eagle rays can be seen snorkeling. In the morning when you are lucky, you can also see dolphins from the beach.

Sea life

You can go snorkeling with mantas, turtles, fish, baby sharks, schools of fish. You can also go fishing and prepare a local fresh fish on the barbecue in the villa. We will help you set up everything, clean the fish and start the barbecue.

Trips and excursions

We will help you arrange trips to see mantas, whale sharks, reef snorkling, sandbanks and island hopping. At our dive centre Murakabay you can get diving certifications or go for try scuba and fun dives. There beautiful diving locations around the island. On all excursions our guides have emergency and rescue training to ensure safety of our guests.


Sandbanks

In the Ukulhas area, there are at least 5 sandbanks. The length of one of them is approximately 100-150 m and are available year-round. There is a cool house reef with plenty of fish, stingrays, and even turtles with visibility up to 40m.


Safety, religion and dresscode

Ukulhas is very safe island with very friendly people. As all the local islands, prevailing religion is islam, however, on the whole island you can go at all the beaches in bikini and it is very tourist friendly. In the streets it is custom and respectful not to wear beach wear, but regular summer clothes are fine.


Ukulhas infrastructure

The island has everything you need: a hospital, a school, a fitness center and a football field, a number of shops and cafes. There are small stores on every corner with both local and international food.


How to get to the island

There are two speedboats a day coming from the airport, at 10:30 and 16:30 (15:30 during Ramadan). The speedboat goes 90 minutes. We will book the speedbot for you that is the most convenient after your flight arrival. The price is 50 USD per person, half price for children under 12 years, babies 0-2 years for free.
